LYDomains no longer .ly domain registry; authority transferred to the Libyan General Post and Telecommunication Company

24th March 2004 by libyan Spider Network
LYDomains, www.lydomains.com, are no longer the official registry for the .ly domain.
LYDomains are the old registry, based in the UK, not to be confused with the .ly domain.
Libyan Spider has received numerous messages from many countries enquiring on how to get a .ly domain—after complaining of no action taken with .ly domains registered on the site of LYDomains.
Libyan Spider warns anyone wishing to register a .ly domain not to register at LY domains, as LYDomains is no longer responsible for .ly domains and cannot activate the domain for you
LYDomains continues to accept payment on its website, even though they know they cannot activate your domain. We consider this fraud and a breach of trust
Libyan Spider came about the problem when we attempted to register a .ly domain with LYDomains, and met with no response, despite repeated emails and enquiries.
Other attempts to contact LYDomains have been fruitless.
We have found it necessary to make this statement, since LYDomains ceased to be official registry for the .ly domain since April 2004,but continue to deceive their customers and falsely claiming to still be the .ly domain registry, as well as failing to mention .ly domain registry was transferred to the Libyan General Post and Telecommunications Company.
For enquires to Libyan Spider about registering .ly domains, ly domains cannot be activated as of now, as the new registry, GPTC, are still developing the groundwork for system registration.
